Craftsmen’s Guild Tri-Scope Stereoscope

United States, 1950s

The Tri-Scope is a small, colorful plastic stereo viewer that came in plain and marbled colors. It was used in a few different 3D sets. The Tri-Story sets for children and an erotica set for adults are shown below. The Tri-Scope viewer was also used in the Dexterama 3D sets.

Tri-Story

We were fortunate to come across this complete Tri-Story set with an intact display box, marbled Tri-Scope viewer, 10 complete cartoon stereoview sets, several “training” stereoviews on clear plastic, extra viewer lenses, and a training manual.

Tri-Scope 3D Set

This Tri-Scope set has different packaging but comes with the same 10 sets of Tri-Stories and an instruction sheet.

Tri-Scope 3D Set - Smaller Size

The box for this set is smaller than the one above but has similar graphics.

Tri-Scope Midget (Erotica)

A rare find. This Tri-Scope set includes the famous “first nude” of Marilyn Monroe (as Norma Jean) that is typically only found in a plastic mount, packaged with the Modelscope viewer. In this set, Marilyn, along with other nude women, are mounted in Craftsmen’s Guild cardboard mounts.
