Modelscope Stereo Viewer

The Modelscope was one of the first viewers in our collection. It’s one of 3 VERY similar viewers that were all manufactured around the same time and take the same type of multi-view, mounted film strip. As one can clearly see from the the Modelscope’s box, the sole purpose of the viewer was to view the nude models on the accompanying slides. One of the nude women on the slides is said to be Marilyn Monroe when she was a young Norma Jean trying to make money while her husband was away in the military. It is supposedly the very first nude photograph of her.
