Feb ‘24: What’s New in What’s Old

In February, we worked on photographing, researching, and posting this interesting group of vintage stereoscopes to our website. A month ago, we didn’t even know most of these existed. We were especially captivated by the beautiful gold & silver L’Iris lorgnette-style stereoscope and intrigued by the innovative Russian tea-canister-stereoscope-combo. Those two also happened to be the most difficult ones to research and we admit to finding no documentation on either one, yet. The more uncommon a stereoscope is, the more complex the information search. We were also excited to find an NPG stereo viewer that wasn’t on our radar: Texas & Pacific Railway. While we have over 40 unique NPG stereo viewers, this is only the 4th in our collection that advertises an American company.
