L’Iris Stéréoscope à Manche (handle stereoscope)

Our research has turned up nothing on this beautiful silver & gold lorgnette-style stereoscope from Paris. It has an unusual cardholder feature we’ve never seen: 4 hooks that insert into 4 holes on the 4 x 10 cm paper stereoviews. Based on the viewer design, the stereoview size and format, and the clothing and vehicles in the stereoviews, we date this viewer somewhere between 1890-1910.
