Stereo-C. C. Postcard Stereo Viewer

Beautiful dark green and gold textured paper-covered cardboard box that serves as both the container for the stereo postcards and the stereoscope itself. The lid, with its gold metal-rimmed eyepieces, snaps onto the box’s bottom piece. Inside the box bottom is a small holder for the postcard. “C. C.” likely stands for Compte & Cie, a well-known French postcard publisher that was active during the late 1890s - 1910s. The viewer design is similar to Le Cartoscope.
