Mikro-Kino Stereo Viewer
Finland, 1950s
This scarce filmstrip viewer has the same design as the original 1930s Tru-Vue viewer but was made a couple of decades later by a Finnish company. The viewer is completely unmarked but the text on the film boxes and filmstrips is in Finnish and Swedish. With the Mikro-Kino, our experience is that while both the viewer and films are extremely hard to find, the viewer is the scarcer of the two — at least we find that to be true in the United States.

Comparison of the Mikro-Kino to the Tru-Vue
These photos show that the design of the cream-colored Mikro-Kino viewer is almost identical to the design of the earlier brown Tru-Vue viewer. Tru-Vue ceased production of this viewer in the late ‘30s, a decade before the Mikro-Kino was introduced.
