Mickey Mouse 3D Viewer
England, 1950s
We love that Mickey Mouse himself is in relief on the actual viewer! We’ve been unable to find any other examples of this little Mickey Mouse stereo viewer but, based on the box graphics and the use of “Walt Disney Productions, Ltd” on the box and viewer, some expert Disney collectors think it’s from the 1950s. The two color stereo filmstrips that came with it are “Pinocchio in Camp” and “Thumper, the Archer” and are advanced through the viewer using the sliding tab on top of the viewer. The box says this is “a Disney 5 star line” and the filmstrip packaging says “this is a Disney five star film". The viewer was manufactured by Hope Laboratories, Hollinwood, Lancashire in England.
