F. S. Cardboard Box Stereoscope
Japan, 1950s
This small box doubles as a container and part of the stereoscope assembly. The box bottom and lid are placed inside each other, then the lens board is inserted into one side and the tabbed stereoviews are inserted into the other side to form a simple stereo viewing device. The six stereoviews depict Amanohashidate in Kyoto, Japan — one of the famous “Three Views of Japan” (Nihon Sankei).
