Geiss America GA Twenty Stereo Viewer
West Germany / United States, 1950s
This battery-operated, multi-slide stereo viewer was made in West Germany and distributed exclusively in the U.S. by Geiss America out of Chicago, Illinois. It was advertised as an all-purpose viewer for home, sales, or education use. It operated on two 1.5 volt flashlight batteries or could be plugged in. Slides were loaded into the top magazine and would drop into the empty lower magazine when the transport lever (red lever on bottom) was pushed. When all the slides have been viewed, switch the full magazine back to the top and the empty one to the bottom. Extra magazines and a handy tripod were available for purchase. The red button on the front controlled the light, the red knob on the side was for focusing and the red slide on top of the lens housing was for interocular adjustment.
