Zeiss-Ikon Stereo Viewer
Germany, 1920s
Designed for 45 x 107 mm stereoviews, this Zeiss-Ikon stereo viewer lacks interocular adjustment but features rack-and-pinion focusing and a mirrored top opening to let in light for paper stereoviews. In this design, the silver button on top must be pressed to allow insertion of the stereoview. The opening is blocked when the button is released, preventing the stereoview from sliding out.
