LZ 127 Graf Zeppelin Stereo Viewer

Germany, 1920s

After the success of the LZ 126 “ZR III Los Angeles,” Germany raised money to build the bigger LZ 127 “Graf Zeppelin.” Its first flight was on September 18, 1928, and the next year it famously embarked on a flight around the world, financed by the Hearst newspaper publication in exchange for sole coverage. Luftschiffbau Zeppelin GmbH once again produced the viewer and views for the LZ 127, as they previously had done for the LZ 126. The viewer’s folding design was similar to the LZ 126 viewer, but this one had “Zeppelin” imprinted on it.
