GAF View-Master Folding Stereo Viewer
United States, 1970s
There were two different folding/collapsible View-Masters created when View-Master was under the Sawyer name. This third attempt by Gaf most resembles the Sawyer Pocket Viewer. But with Gaf’s design here, the hinges aren’t exactly hinges — you have to bend the thin plastic at the joints to assemble the viewer. So, every time we handle this viewer, we’re worried about it snapping apart, especially as it ages. This viewer is mostly found included with book & reel sets.
