Cigarros Bock Wood Stereoscope
Cuba, 1910s
This small wooden stereoscope advertises Henry Clay and Bock & Co, and more specifically, the Golden Eagle (El Aguila de Ora) brand of cigars produced by Gustav Bock. Gustav Bock was a German entrepreneur who emigrated to Cuba and not only produced cigars but also invented the cigar band. The lens board stores away inside the small box, along with the miniature stereoviews. The box lid serves as the cardholder and can be moved back and forth to adjust focus. The Golden Eagle logo is very faint but still visible on the lens board.
