Bella Vista Cigarettes Tin Stereoscope
Netherlands, 1900s
This lithographed NPG viewer advertises Bella Vista brand of cigarettes made with “real Turkish tobacco.” J. Van Kerckhof, founded in 1885, was the cigarette manufacturer. The front of the viewer bears the profile of Queen Wilhelmina, queen of the Netherlands and longest reigning Dutch monarch, in addition to a royal award insignia. In 1952, Kerckhof was taken over by Turmac. Around 2000, Turmac began selling under British American Tobacco (BAT) in Zevenaar until it closed its doors in 2007.
